200g when soaked in water yields 500g+ of ready to cook Jack Fruit (can make about 2.5 standard dishes).
To make this ready to cook, soak 200g in 1 Liter of boiled water for just 30minutes and steam it for 5 minutes or two until you can feel it softer for your need.

200g of dried jackfruit is equivalent to about 500g of the original fruit. When you soak this jackfruit in water, you get 3 times of gresh jackfruit peeled and ready to cook. Having dried jackfruit, you are storing more jackfruit in limited quantity and little space with more shelve life where only water is removed.

100 g of edible jackfruit bulbs provide 95 calories. The fruit made of soft, easily digestible flesh (arils) made up of simple sugars like fructose and sucrose that when eaten replenishes energy and revitalizes the body instantly.

Further, it is a good source of potassium, magnesium, manganese, and iron. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.

Reconstituting Guidelines

A good rule of thumb for reconstituting fruits, vegetables and meats is to add about three times the amount of boiling water to the product. Then let it set for at least 30 minutes based on the type of product.

If you have added too much water, you can drain it and use it in cooking. If your food  looks like it needs more water, then add more. To speed up the reconstitution process, add the dried product directly to soup and cook as usual.
